Warm Homes East Lammermuir

Supporting households in rural East Lothian to move to cleaner, more affordable heating — one community at a time.

About the Project

The Warm Homes project helps households in the East Lammermuir Community Council area explore and adopt low-carbon heating. Many homes here are off the mains gas grid and have been left behind by the energy market. This project is changing that.

We work directly with owner-occupiers, social landlords, private landlords and tenants across the area, with the ambition of reaching every household.

Who we work with

Households across East Lammermuir, including owner-occupiers and tenants in off-gas communities. We also work with East Lothian Council, East Lothian Housing Association, Home Energy Scotland and local community steering groups.

What we offer

Independent advice on low-carbon heating options, referrals to specialist support, guidance on grant and loan funding for home improvements, and coordination of feasibility work for shared heat solutions.

Heat networks

We are developing feasibility work for a local heat network centred on Innerwick, which could serve a cluster of homes from a shared low-carbon heat source, alongside Lothian Heat’s wider regional heat network programme.

Community benefit funding

The project is supported by community benefit funding from local wind energy developments. We are accountable for delivering clear outcomes for the communities this funding was raised to serve.
